1. Graduate School of Dental Science
April 1, 1974
The Graduate School of Dental Science was established.
Two departments (Department of Basic Dental Science, Department of Clinical Dental Science) were founded.
A quota of 30 students per year.
April 1, 1997
The Graduate School to offer both daytime and evening classes was established.
April 1, 2000
The Graduate School of Dental Science was changed to one department and had seven divisions (Division of Oral Biological Sciences, Division of Oral Health, Growth and Development, Division of Oral Rehabilitation, Division of Maxillofacial Diagnostic and Surgical Sciences, Division of Hospital Dentistry (affiliated division), Division of Oral Health, Technology and Epidemiology (cooperative division), Division of Oral Biological Response Research (visiting division)).
A quota per year was changed to 43 students.
April 1, 2004
Division of Interdisciplinary Dentistry was established.
2. Faculty of Dental Science
April 1, 2000
The Faculty of Dental Science was established.
The Faculty had six divisions (Division of Oral Biological Sciences, Division of Oral Health, Growth and Development, Division of Oral Rehabilitation, Division of Maxillofacial Diagnostic and Surgical Sciences, Division of Oral Health, Technology and Epidemiology (cooperative division), Division of Oral Biological Response Research (visiting division)) for the Department of Dental Science.
3. School of Dentistry

The School of Dentistry, Kyushu University developed out of the Division of Dentistry (renamed as Division of Dentistry and Oral Surgery in October, 1927) in the School of Medicine which was founded in May, 1922. The School of Dentistry was separated as an independent School from the School of Medicine in June, 1967.

June 1, 1967
The School of Dentistry was established.
Three divisions (Division of Conservative Dentistry Ⅰ, Division of Prosthetic Dentistry Ⅰ, Division of Oral Surgery) were founded.
The Administrative Faculty Committee started functioning.
A quota of 40 students per year.
April 1, 1968
Four divisions (Division of Oral Anatomy Ⅰ, Division of Oral Physiology, Division of Oral Biochemistry, Division of Oral Pathology) were founded.
March 6, 1969
The first period construction of the building for basic dental science was completed.
April 1, 1969
Three divisions (Division of Oral Anatomy Ⅱ, Division of Oral Bacteriology, Division of Dental Materials Engineering) were founded.
June 1, 1969
The Administrative Faculty Committee was abolished.
Faculty meeting in the School of Dentistry started functioning.
March 12, 1970
The second period construction of the building for basic dental science was completed.
April 1, 1970
Three divisions (Division of Dental Pharmacology, Division of Preventive Dentistry, Division of Orthodontics) were founded.
April 1, 1971
Two divisions (Division of Conservative Dentistry Ⅱ, Division of Prosthetic Dentistry Ⅱ) were founded.
May 10, 1976
The Division of Dental and Maxillofacial Radiology was founded.
A quota per year was expanded to 60 students.
April 18, 1977
The Division of Oral Surgery was reorganized to Division of Oral Surgery Ⅰ and Division of Oral Surgery Ⅱ.
A quota per year was expanded to 80 students.
April 1, 1978
The Division of Pediatric Dentistry was founded.
March 29, 1979
The third period construction of the main building and the building for student training were completed.
March 25, 1981
New building was completed for research of clinical departments.
April 1, 1985
The Administrative office system started along with union of the both Administrative offices of School of Dentistry and University Dental Hospital, and General Affairs Section and Operative Affairs Section were founded.
April 1, 1987
A quota per year was changed to 60 students.
April 1, 1999
The Division of Dental Anesthesiology was founded.
April 1, 2000
The School of Dentistry was changed to five divisions (Intoroductory Dentistry, Dental Basic Science, Oral Disease and Pathology, Oral Health Science, Clinical Dentistry).
A quota per year was changed to 55 students.
April 1, 2002
A quota of 5 students per year for admission to the third year.
A quota per year was changed to 60 students.
December 20, 2002
New building was completed for student training.
April 1, 2004
Kyushu University was incorporated into Kyushu University, National University Corporation.
March 19, 2010
New building was completed for research of clinical departments.
4. Kyushu University Hospital, Dental Hospital
June 1, 1967
The University Dental Hospital was established.
June 16, 1967
Three Clinical Departments (Conservative Dentistry Ⅰ, Prosthetic Dentistry Ⅰ, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery) were established in the Hospital.
August 1, 1967
The Clinic started in the former building of Dentistry and Oral Surgery, University Hospital attached to the Faculty of Medicine. Standard nursing (class 1), meal supply and bedding were approved.
April 17, 1970
Two Clinical Departments (Preventive Dentistry, Orthodontics) were established in the Hospital. Twenty beds were set up.
March 22, 1971
The first period construction of the new building for outpatient clinic was completed.
April 1, 1971
Two Clinical Departments (Conservative Dentistry Ⅱ, Prosthetic Dentistry Ⅱ) were established.
The clinic started in the new building for outpatient clinic.
September 30, 1971
The second period construction of the new building for outpatient clinic and part of the new inpatient building were completed.
May 10, 1976
The Nursing Department was established.
October 1, 1976
The Clinical Department of Dental Radiology was established in the Hospital.
October 1, 1977
The Clinical Department of Oral Surgery was divided into the Clinical Department of Oral Surgery Ⅰ and Oral Surgery Ⅱ.
October 1, 1978
The Clinical Department of Pedodontics was established in the Hospital.
March 8, 1979
The third period construction of the new building for outpatient clinic and the second period construction of the new inpatient building were completed.
April 1, 1985
The administrative office of the University Dental Hospital was united with that of the Faculty of Dentistry.
March 29, 1988
Clinical training for foreign dentists was certified.
April 8, 1988
The Clinical Department of Dental Anesthesiology was established.
April 1, 1993
The Clinical Department of Special Dental Clinic Section was established in the Hospital.
October 3, 2001
The first period construction of the new building (Kyushu University Hospital South ward) was completed.
April 1, 2002
The Clinical Department of General Oral Care was established in the Hospital.
Eleven Clinical Departments were integrated into three Departments such as Section of Oral Health Care, Section of Oral Rehabilitation and Section of Maxillofacial Surgery.
October 1, 2003
Three hospitals attached to Faculty of Medical Science, Faculty of Dental Science and Medical Institute of Bioregulation were integrated into Kyushu University Hospital.
April 1, 2004
Kyushu University was incorporated into Kyushu University, National University Corporation.
March 30, 2006
The second period construction of the new building (Kyushu University Hospital North ward) was completed, the clinic started in the new building.
April 1, 2006
The Clinic of Oral Health Care and Prevention was abolished.
April 30, 2009
The construction of the new building (Kyushu University Hospital Outpatient ward) was completed.
September 28, 2009
The Clinical Department of Regenerative Dentistry and Implant Center was established in the Hospital.
April 1, 2011
Kyushu University Hospital (attached to The School of Medicine, The School of Dentistry and The Medical Institute of Bioregulation) became Kyushu University Hospital (attached to The School of Medicine and The School of Dentistry).
