Research field introduction

Implant and Rehabilitative Dentistry

The main purpose of prosthetic dentistry is to preserve the chewing function and enhance the quality of life (QoL) of an individual. To achieve this purpose, lost

teeth, alveolar bones, and surrounding tissues are replaced with crowns, bridges, dentures, and dental implants carefully for restoring the occlusion and enhancing the overall esthetics as well. A clinician is expected to have a broad spectrum of knowledge and versatile skills to establish proper treatment plans and carry out the practice delicately. In the section of implant and rehabilitative dentistry, graduate students will learn not only the evidence-based, fundamental prosthodontics but also a variety of subspecialties including temporomandibular joint disorder (TMD), digital dentistry, regenerative dentistry, and sports dentistry. Besides daily clinical practices, basic and clinical researches are also encouraged to develop the scientific-based treatment philosophy of each graduate student.
