Research field introduction

Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery

At the Department of Maxillofacial Surgery, all staff members are deeply committed to clinical care, education, and research, driven by a strong spirit of improvement and teamwork.

Clinical Activities
Our clinical practice focuses on the treatment of craniofacial deformities such as jaw deformities and cleft lip/palate, as well as oral and maxillofacial reconstruction using implants and regenerative medicine. We also provide specialized care for temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders. In addition, we are involved in the management of a wide range of oral and maxillofacial conditions, including oral tumors, maxillofacial trauma, and inflammatory diseases, thereby offering comprehensive care across the full spectrum of oral and maxillofacial surgery.

Education
Through undergraduate, postgraduate, and residency training, we aim to nurture the next generation of leaders in dentistry—professionals capable of independent learning, critical thinking, and clinical application. Our educational mission also includes contributing to local healthcare and fostering globally-minded researchers who can actively engage in international academic and clinical communities.

Research
We are engaged in high-level research in collaboration with leading domestic and international laboratories, particularly focusing on IgG4-related diseases and Sjögren’s Disease. In clinical research, we are investigating functional and morphological changes before and after surgery in cases of jaw deformities and cleft lip/palate, aiming to resolve critical clinical questions that arise from daily practice.
