Research field introduction

Dental Education

Kyushu University School of Dentistry has implemented elaborated classes in addition to those related to specialized subjects in dentistry, in order to promote “active learners” who continue to actively study throughout their lives, and dentists and researchers who are active globally as leaders in dentistry. In the 2nd year, students will learn problem-based learning (PBL) on dental-related themes that are in line with social conditions, and in the 2nd to 6th years, they will integrate all the knowledge that they have learned in the team-based learning (TBL). Through such “integrated classes”, students will be able to integrate fragmentary knowledge and acquire the active learning attitudes required for medical professionals and the knowledge of multidisciplinary collaboration in medical teams. Also, in the 3rd and 4th years, professional/specialized English classes are provided as core education subjects, and aim to develop global human resources who can play an active role in the world.
